Friday, July 4th

7am - 10am
Sandcastle Sculpture Contest
Port Beach on Dock Road. No fees or admission charges. Prizes awarded.

7am - 11am
Rotary Scholarship Pancake Breakfast
Driftwood School. Sponsored by local Rotary Club. Pancakes, ham, scrambled eggs, coffee or milk. Adults $6.00. Children under 12 - $4.00

7am - 3pm
Flower Show - Master Gardeners Plant Clinic
Master Gardener plant sale at Driftwood School Library, organized by Sunset Garden Club.

9am - 4pm
Quilt Show
Community Building, corner of 11th & Washington Streets. Sponsored by Quilters' Corner.

9am - 5pm
Photo Day Display /Driftwood Art
755 Hwy 101. Photographs of Port Orford, Langlois and local area sites. Driftwood Art by local area students with proceeds going to local schools for special projects.

Parade
Parade line up at 19th & Idaho and ends at Jackson Street and Hwy 101. Pre-judging starts at 10am. For information, call Deloris Finch at 332-4400.

Senior Center BBQ and Raffle
1536 Jackson Street. Port Orford Senior Center parking lot.
Hamburgers or hot dogs.

Noon - 2pm
Masonic Lodge Fish Feed
417 11th Street - The American Legion Building
Port Orford's Finest Fresh fish.

Noon - 2:30pm
Frugal Gourmet Desserts
1536 Jackson Street. Port Orford Senior Center parking lot. Proceeds to go to the Friends of the Common Good, our local food bank.

Parade Ribbons Distributed
Ribbons will be held at the Visitors' Center until August 4th.

Dinghy Race at Battlerock Beach
Relay race - teams row out to a buoy and back. Prizes awarded.

2pm
Play - "Steel Magnolias"
1320 Oregon Street - Theatre 101
Performance of "Steel Magnolias" by Robert Harling. For further information, call 332-7529

Jerry Can Race
Top of Coast Guard Hill. Coast Guard Museum.

Port Orford Skate Park Opening
Buffington Park. Demonstrations of the sport of skateboarding. T-Shirts will be available with all funds going to the Port Orford Skate Park Addition Fund. T-Shirts only sponsored by the Port Orford Skate Park Committee.

2:30pm
Nash Memorial Duck Race
Ducks (rubber duckies) will be launched from the Elk River Hatchery and make their way to the mouth of the Elk River where they will be collected. Prizes awarded and a donation will be made to the fireworks fund. For further information, contact Linda Nelson at 332-5063.

7pm - 9pm
Square Dancing
Hwy 101, milepost 298. Turn west on Nicholson Drive. Beachcombers' Cove. Sponsored by the Beachcombers' Cove Square Dance Club.

Fireworks/Raffles/Dedications
Battlerock parking lot. Fifth Street access to Battlerock Beach closed from 6pm until after the fireworks.

Beachcombers' Pancake Breakfast
Hwy 101, milepost 298. Turn west on Nicholson Drive. Beachcombers' Cove. Sponsored by the Beachcombers' Cove Square Dance Club. Ham, eggs and all you can eat pancakes served on real plates by real people and featuring warm coastal berry sauce or maple syrup, coffee & juice. $5.00 per person.

Beach Golf
12th Annual JR Allison Saltwater Memorial and Scholarship Saltwater Open Beach Golf. Tee off at Hubbard Creek to the base of Battlerock. Sign up at Port & Starboard Restaurant, Pitches Tavern, or 101 Liquor. Golfers, spectators, and friends will gather at Pitches Tavern for the Award Ceremony. Help us find the winner! The viewing public will judge the junk art by ballot. $25.00 prize for Best of Show.

10am - 2pm
Chalk Art Contest
On sidewalks from 20th Street to Battlerock Park. Chalk artists will pick up their chalk from 'Neath the Wind Realty. Cash prizes will be awarded and provided by 'Neath the Wind Realty, with winners announced in local newspapers. Mother Nature will clean up.

1pm - 5pm
Port Orford Library Grand Opening
15th Street and Hwy 101.
Welcome to the Community's big, beautiful new library. Ribbon cutting and tours.

1:30pm - 3pm
Square Dancing Workshop
Hwy 101, milepost 298. Turn west on Nicholson Drive. Beachcombers' Cove. Sponsored by the Beachcombers' Square Dance Club.

Annual Pet Show
